Sunday morning we decided to take my parents down to our old haunt, Carleton University, to check out the annual Carleton Biology Butterfly Show. The show runs from October 4 to 13, 2008 from 9-4:00 pm. And the best part is that admission is free - but they are taking donations.
We arrived around 10 am and the place was already jam packed with kids, parents, and grandparents. This was definitely a family gig. Those that came last year could easily be spotted as they were the ones with slices of apples and oranges walking around trying to lure the butterflies to land on them. And occasionally it actually worked.
We snapped off a few photos but in the end the butterflies were just too busy fluttering about to allow us the prize winning shot. Nevertheless, it's a great way to spend an hour with the family and well worth an annual visit.
